Direct Support Professional – Day works as an hourly employee under the direct supervision of a Program Manager. They may work in conjunction with a home care provider and are expected to follow Above Care Personnel Policies and State guidelines. The shifts and schedules may vary according to the program needs, and travel/transfer between program sites and community is required.
Home Care Provider (HCP) is a contract position, sharing their personal residence and hosting a member. HCP are responsible for providing live-in support and care for an adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as behavioral issues. They are also responsible for managing the day-to-day responsibilities of the home, with the assistance of Above Care. They are paid a monthly stipend that covers operating expenses of the home, the expenses associated with care for the individual, and for services rendered according to the difficulty of care.
Respite home care provider is a subcontract with Above Care or with the home care provider to provide respite services, time off (e.g., weekends, holidays, and/or leave) for the home care provider. Respite provider also need to complete the designated application and supply the necessary documents before assignment. The documents are like the home care provider position. The home care provider and respite staff may contract with one another for agreed compensation plan.
